Frequently Asked Questions
We get so many questions about the photo shoots so here are some of the most common ones answered to help put your mind at ease!
Where are you located?
We are located on the lower South Hill area in our home studio with street parking. We have converted our entire downstairs into our one of kind retro studio & Atomic Threads Clothing Boutique. We have larger sets that are out in our shop, available to set up in our lush backyard and have converted our RV into a mobile studio as well.
The most common comment we hear is "I really want to do a shoot but I need to lose 10 or 20 lbs first."
Believe me I understand that, I truly do! But when it comes down to it I honestly believe in celebrating who you are in this very moment. Because life happens and goes by so quickly sometime and you deserve to embrace all that you are!
I am not a model and am shy about posing in front of the camera. Do you think that I can be a pin up?
Of course you can be a pin-up! We built this business to help empower everyday ladies to embrace themselves just as they are. Many of our clients have never stepped in a professional photo studio before. Stina Rae has a knack for taking to time to get to know someone and help them feel at ease in front of the camera.
I am a curvy or bigger woman. Will your wardrobe accommodate me?
We have a variety of Orchard Corsets, pinup style dresses, swing skirts, vintage style swimsuits and lingerie in Stina Rae's Closet. Also onsite is Atomic Threads Clothing Boutique (COMING SOON) where we will be carrying brands such as Steady Clothing and Kix'xies Thigh Highs with more to come! In case what we have does not fit your fancy, fear not because we have a vast knowledge of online clothing retailers to order thru for your particular need for your big day.
I am a middle aged woman. Am I too old to be a pin up?
Of course not!! There is no cutoff age to looking and feeling fabulous. We have had women of all ages come in to the studio, have the time of their life and leave feeling better about themselves than they had in years!
There are areas of my figure I want to hide or not feature. Is this possible?
While posing, you can show as much or as little of your body as you feel comfortable doing. Plus, we are always careful to pose you in the most figure flattering ways.
How long does it take to receive the proofs?
After your session, we schedule your In-Studio Image Viewing Session about two weeks after your shoot. This gives us a chance to personalize the experience to you and show you your images along with the various print & product packages you have to choose from.
How long does it take to receive my prints? Can I place a rush on my order?
Post production begins after you place your order at your In-Studio Image Viewing Session. The process includes professional airbrushing and image quality control to make sure you receive the very best prints. This high caliber work is time consuming so, your prints and products will be ready for pickup or to be shipped via USPS about 3 weeks after you place your order. During the holidays print orders may take up to 4 weeks to ship. Your prints ship discreetly in an unmarked package. Rush services require an additional fee and are subject to scheduling restraints.
What is involved in the retouching of my photos?
One of the most important stages of the process is in the post-production and editing of final images. This allows us to personally make sure each photo you order is magazine quality. We will smooth skin, remove wrinkles, scars, stretch marks and other skin imperfections. We will not airbrush you into oblivion nor distort and make you unrecognizable; we still want to see you in these photos after all. Also, because of the lengthy process, only ordered images will receive the post production treatment. If you have anything specific you would like retouched after viewing your proofs, please bring this to our attention when placing your order.
